     J.B. Ritchie Power Blues

In the realm of guitar-driven blues/rock, the new generation of would be comers have very much failed to hit their mark. This is primary due to their being relatively devoid of any substantive influences, along the lines of a poor man's tribute to the late Stevie Ray Vaughn with camera ready looks for MTV airplay. If poseurs such as Johnny Lang and Kenny Wayne Shepard have failed to deliver what you want, look no further than Power Blues by J. B. Ritchie. The two tastefully done originals, " You Don't Gotta" featuring a wonderful T-Bone Walker via Duke Robillard intro, and " Nervous Breakdown" leave the listener wanting to hear more originals songs from the band . For those of you who like blues/rock in the vein of ZZ top, Canned Heat and the Allman Brothers, Power Blues is a release that certainly provides a strong does of J. B. Ritchie's taste and interpretation of great Chicago Blues music, while forging a very personal sound with slide guitar at it's core.
